Today’s interview is with Amir Salihefendic. Since creating Todoist as a side project in 2007 while he was in University, he has been able to grow the company completely organically without ever raising VC funds. Currently, they have over 6M users, 44 team members in 24 countries (they’re a completely remote company), and are experiencing about 10K organic downloads a day without doing any third party advertising.
After growing up in war-torn Bosnia, Amir has an extremely unique view on business, productivity, and product design.
Originally from Bosnia, Amir grew up in Denmark and studied Computer Science at Aarhus Univeristet in Aarhus, Denmark. Prior to Doist, Amir was part of the founding team of Plurk, a Twitter precursor used by millions of people that continues to be one of the most popular social networking sites in Asia.
